- Dorothy Johnston says...
- I live in Waco, Texas. Art has always been the focus of my life. I majored in art in college, first at the University of Colorado in Boulder, and then at Texas Tech in Lubbock, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree. Most of my career was spent designing and producing art for industry. Later, I taught in the art department at Texas State Technical College in Waco and, upon retirement, I taught watercolor classes for seven years in the Continuing Education School at Baylor University.
I am a member of the Central Texas Watercolor Society in Waco, where I have enjoyed many workshops, taught by both local and national artists. Among the national artists, my favorites have been Polly Hammett, Frank Webb, Cheng Kee Chee, Ken Hosmer and Diane Maxey.
- Painting for solo shows keeps me busy. Here are some of the locations:
-
- I am often invited to provide demonstration programs and to conduct workshops for art groups in the Central Texas area.
