MISSIE DICKENS

To view the other artists in the gallery go to SWMembersGallery

Missie Dickens has painted her whole life. She says, "I attribute my eye for detail to my dad, Lonnie Dickens, a dentist. However, my painting follows a tradition set by my artist mother, Cecelia Hill, and my grandmother and great grandmother, a painter and a quilter. 1 find enjoyment in painting landscapes and flowers or landscapes of flowers. I paint visions that are sent to me from the universe by spiritual powers beyond my control. Sometimes I believe my brush and my hand are guided by God, and I become aware of the emotional connection between the vision I am painting and of my own spirit. When I teach, I encourage my students to paint from their passion and to follow their spirit. "
