"Since "discovering" watercolor two years ago I have developed a passion

for the medium. I love the luminous color and like to "push" the contrasts with very strong, dark backgrounds and slanting light. I began to show my work a little over a year ago at the Alexandria Art League Gallery in their monthly juried shows and am pleased to say have won a few awards. Recently, a painting was accepted in the Maryland Federation of Art's "Art on Paper 2002." The Fraser Gallery in Georgetown is representing my work on Sothebys.com fine art on-line auctions and I hope to develop this relationship in the future. This spring I have been privileged to be accepted as a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and the Potomac Valley Watercolorists. I'd love to say that I am a full-time painter, however, for the time being, I am an office manager for a high tech firm in Columbia, Maryland. I live in Southern Maryland with my husband Mike, 3 cats and an Amazon parrot and paint every free moment!"...JD
