- Emma Lou Martin
- Virginia artist, Emma Lou Martin, has for the last fifteen years devoted her life to the arts in Richmond. A fine arts major at Randolph-Macon Women's College and the College of William and Mary, she only "dabbled" in art while raising a family. At mid-life she became a professional artist after continuing studies with master artists. A signature member of Virginia Watercolor Society, her versatile paintings reflect her love and respect for nature and man's achievements. She has won awards in collage, pastel, oil and watercolor in numerous juried shows. Believing that when one possesses a gift it must be shared, this artist has become a leader in the local art community and as such has headed her artist association, was the moving force in founding a successful artist co-op gallery for over 35 artists, and has served as a museum docent for over 25 years. She teaches inspiring painting workshops, has served as art show judge and art consultant for various organizations. Her paintings are found in corporate and private collections nationally and in Europe.

ONE FINE DAY watercolor © 2000 by Emma Lou Martin image 21 X 15 inches framed 27 X 22 inches
Fly fishing in the James River running through Richmond, VA is now a popular pastime in this city where fish are once again spawning after successful efforts to clean up the river. I was struck by the contrast of the heavy railroad trestle and the compositional patterns it created on the shoreline. This painting won best in show in an all media PARK REFLECTIONS 2000 exhibit. $600
ROCKS OF AGE: STONEHENGE STUDIES © 2001 by Emma Lou Martin image: 21X28 inches framed: 32X38 inches New Years Day brought snow for my first visit to this prehistoric monument on Sailsbury Plain in England...An irresistible subject for artistic study. $900.00
TIDAL POOL © 2000 by Emma Lou Martin image: 18X30 inches framed: 24X36 inches Time spent on Mt.
