- Artist's Statement: "Ever since I was a child creating with paper, scissors and crayons on the kitchen table, I have loved art in all forms.
My degree, from the University of Maryland, is in Art Education, and I have taken master's level courses from the Maryland Art Institute in Baltimore. I taught art for four years at the middle school level, and taught courses in drawing and painting for the recreation department. I worked as a free lance graphic artist for several years in Asheville, NC, before deciding to pursue full time my first love of painting in watercolor. I currently have a studio in Fort Mill SC where I show my work and teach classes.
I live in Charlotte, NC, with my wonderful husband, Dev. (My maiden name is James, for those of you doing geneology work.) I certainly could not be doing what I am doing without his belief in me. We have three cats, Diva, Empress, and Samuari, who all live up to their names. And two black lab mixes, Schnapps and Bailey who spend most of the day trying to sleep as close to me as possible "
