| About The Artist:
Sonya Walker a native of Savannah, Georgia demonstrated a keen interest in drawing at the young age of six. As a very fquiet and shy child, she used drawing as a way of occupying her time. After high school she went on to pursue her education in art by attending the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), where she major in Illustration. After a year of study, she decided to withdraw and pursue her art career. |

| Sonya has had a one woman show at Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, AL.; Savannah State University, Savannah, GA; The Lucy Laney Museum, Augusta, GA.; Harriet Tubman Museum, Macon, GA.; Rollins College, Orlando, FL.; The African American Atelier, Durham, NC.; and many other cities. Sonya has participated in many festivals. She was featured in the 1992 August/September issue of American Visions Magazine where she was named one of eight up and coming Artists. Her work is in the collection of Susan Taylor, former Editor n Chief of Essence Magazine; Gladys Knight; Shaun Stockman (Boys II Men); Actress/Producer Debbie Allen and many others. |
