VAL WRIGHT200 L'Ambiance Cr. 104 Naples, Florida 34108 Primarily a plein air painter, Wright is captivated by by the movement and repetition found in nature. To best capture the transient atmosphere of the natural world, Wright most often paints on location or from sketches she makes while outside. Movement is the theme of her current work-movement of figures, trees, water, and even patterns of birds and fish in the water. Transparent watercolors are most effective at implying there is an underlying force controlling the painting, whether it is the dark shadows of a lilly pond or a hot blast from the sun. Wright is a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society, Mid-Southern Watercolorists, Watercolor USA Honor Society, a juried member of Watercolor West, Southern Watercolor Society and the Georgia Watercolor Society.
