ELIGIBILITY & FEEMembership in the Southern Watercolor Society is open to persons living in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia. Dues are $30 per year payable between January 1 and March 1 for the calendar year. Checks for dues should be made out to Southern Watercolor Society and sent to the address on the application. Non-payment of dues within the specified two months terminates membership. To re-attain active or artist status, members will have to fulfill requirements again. A member who moves outside the region whose dues are current may retain membership and status as long as dues are not delinquent. MEMBERSHIP LEVELSASSOCIATE - A watercolor painter sixteen years of age or older. ACTIVE - A member whose work is accepted and exhibited in one annual SW juried competition. ARTIST - A member whose work is accepted and exhibited in three annual SW juried competitions (not necessarily consecutive). SIGNATURE - Artist Class members may use the initials "SW" following their signatures. (Please note: SWS should not be used as it indicates earned status in Southwestern Watercolor Society, different Society) HONORARY - A person who has made significant contribution to the Society. Proposed by the board and elected by membership. Does not pay dues, PATRON - An award donor or contributor to the general fund of SW, but has no voting privileges and needs not be a painter LIFE - Artist class members who have exhibited in 10 SW juried competitions and Past Presidents are given life memberships.
